Note: This is a digital download, a link will be provided after completing the checkout and emailed to you for future downloads.
1. Download the Collection
2. Extract the Collection
Extract the ZIP file to get the .postman_collection file
3. Import the Collection
Select the Collections tab and click the Import Collection button to the right of the tab.
4. Choose Collection File
Click the “Choose Files” button and select the .postman_collection file extracted from the ZIP file.
5. Close Import Window
After importing, Postman will report that the collection was added. Close this window.
6. Manage Environments
Select Manage Environments by clicking on the “No Environments” button on the top right of the window with the eye icon.
7. Add New Environment
Click the “Add” button to create a new environment.
8. Add Environment Fields
Add two fields: host, and dpid. Fill out the value of the “host” key with the IP address and port of the REST interface provided by Ryu. If you are running Ryu locally, this will be ‘127.0.0.1:8080’. In this screenshot, Ryu is running on a different server. Leave the value for the “dpid” key blank for now. Click submit
9. Select the Environment
Enable the environment by clicking the environments selection box (eye icon) in the top right and selecting the environment you just created.
10. Use Collection To Get Switch IDs (DPID)
Now that the collection is installed and an environment with host information was created, you can now ask Ryu what switches are connected. Open the “OF-DPA Ryu REST” collection if you haven’t already and select “Get switches”. Now click “Send”. The result should be a list of switch DPIDs connected to Ryu. You will need the DPID of the connected switch to use the rest of the collection.
11. Enter DPID in the Environment
Click the environments selection again (eye icon) and select “Manage environments”. Select the new environment you created and enter the value for the “dpid” key that you retrieved in the last step. Click “Submit” and close the environments window.
12. Confirm By Getting Flows
Now that the environment is complete, the other API calls are now available. Confirm it is working by selecting “Get all flow stats” and clicking “Send”.
